IPhone and Garmin GPS, Work well together
I recently purchased a Garmin StreetPilot c550 GPS. I had been thinking about doing this for years and finally broke down and did it. Little did I know that it is a great bluetooth speakerphone! It is now in my wife’s car and it seemlessly works as a cell phone when her IPhone is present in the car. Top make it even nicer, it pulled down here contacts from her Macbook’s address book. It also, makes it very obvious that you are getting a call in the car which can be kind of noisy and she answers the phone far more often. Its also a great GPS by the way.
What I want my IPhone to do.
Why can’t I set my Macbook up as a bluetooth device that can get notified when the phone is ringing. When I have my headphones on listening to my Itunes library I can’t tell if I am getting a call at all. I would like it to use Growl or something similar to let me know that I am getting or have missed a call and I don’t see why this is not technically possible.

Well I did it. I know I said I would not, that I would wait but I gave in. Once I held one in my hand it was to hard to resist. It was worth every penny. I have to say it all just worked. Contacts, music, activation all went flawlessly and its my main IPod now.
I guess it pays to wait a while before jumping in on something new like this. Now I am waiting for the immanent announcement of v2 which will undo my satisfaction. I just wish text messages were free!
